Over the past few years I've been trying to keep my skills and knowledge moving along in electronics (fitting it into my mountain of other hobbies is increasingly difficult).
I recently bought an Arduino board from Jaycar and have been experimenting with it. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to get into programming microprocessors and general electronics. My first plan is to use it with a 3 axis accelerometer to keep a RC place level in flight without needing to control it from a radio transmitter.
I'm also thinking of creating a deadlock that works via a keypad that I can put on my front door so I don't need keys anymore.
The first step for the plane project was to get the accelerometer and hook it up to a LCD screen so I could understand the outputs and how responsive the board I bought is.
